Transferring your Mailing Lists from Mailchimp To Charley is Easy!
You’ll first start off in your Mailchimp account. Go to Lists and then select the list from which you’d like to start your export. Once inside, you’ll see an option to Export List. Click on it, and you’ll be taken to a page where clicking Export as CSV will start the download.
Locate the file you’ve downloaded on your computer and open it up in a spreadsheet editor. From here, we’ll look at two methods in which you can import your subscribers into Charley.
Method 1: Copying and Pasting Subscribers into Charley
This is best if you have smaller lists, or if you’re just adding a few at a time. Open your CSV file in a spreadsheet editor like Excel or Numbers. Next, copy the columns for email, first name, and last name, EXCLUDING the header row.
In your Charley Mailing List editor, click on Manage Subscribers and select the option for Add Subscribers. Since we’ve copied the three columns for email, first name and last name, we’ll use the respective option.
Paste the values here. Be sure that each value is comma separated; e.g. email, first name, last name. See the screenshot below.
Next, Click the Save and you’ll see a green notification of how many email addresses we’re imported and how many were invalid if any.
Method 2: Importing a CSV file
Open your CSV file in a spreadsheet editor like Excel or Numbers, then delete all of the columns after “last name.” Save your CSV file.
In your Charley Mailing List editor, click on the Manage Subscribers and select the option for Import Subscribers. This will allow you to select your newly saved CSV file from your computer. Once selected, you’ll then click to Import File.
If you have a large file, it may take some moments before the import is finished. In this case, you’ll know it’s finished once you receive an email notification from Charley. It’ll indicate how many email addresses were successfully imported from your file.
